Mike's Furniture & Appliances
The full terms that apply to every purchase, delivery, pick-up, guarantee, and refund. Please review the section that applies to your order.
All delivery windows — verbal and/or written — are estimates and not guaranteed. Delivery windows are between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM, but may extend beyond these hours due to unforeseeable events or operational requirements beyond Mike's Furniture & Appliances' reasonable control. The customer assumes responsibility for obtaining delivery status by contacting customer service at 1-773-276-0599.
Upon receiving this invoice, the customer agrees to the following policies and guarantee agreement. MF&A may amend this agreement, without notice, by posting the amended terms on our website. Prior to leaving the store, it is the customer's responsibility to confirm that the information on the invoice is correct — including but not limited to contact information, delivery address, special notes, items & quantities. Customer must be present, with valid photo identification, to make changes to their invoice or receive a refund under the terms set forth in this agreement.
Lay-A-Way
Used Appliances
Used Appliance Lay-A-Way requires a 50% deposit and is valid for 2 weeks, or as otherwise stated on the invoice. MF&A reserves the right to remove appliance(s) not paid in full by the date stated on the invoice from storage. Deposited funds will be applied as a store credit, valid for 12 months from the invoice date. Appliances paid in full must be delivered within 2 weeks of purchase.
Furniture
Furniture Lay-A-Way is valid for 12 months from the invoice date. MF&A does not physically store layaway items. MF&A orders furniture items when the invoice is paid in full. MF&A is not responsible for discontinued product, tariff price increases, or market condition changes. Anything within or beyond 12 months does not guarantee pricing. After 30 days, all Lay-A-Way payments are converted to store credit and refund does not apply.
Delivery
Delivery does not include connection of appliances, setting up of furniture, or removal of old appliances or furniture.
Delivery dates and times are estimates, not definite. MF&A cannot be held liable for loss due to delivery delays. Delivery is scheduled as soon as the product is received by MF&A. MF&A does not offer same-day delivery.
One delivery attempt is made; a missed delivery will be rescheduled for the next available date. Any further missed deliveries constitute a redelivery charge at the same rate as the original delivery fee. If a delivery was not included, a delivery fee charge will apply. Delivery reschedule or cancelation must be requested 24 hours in advance of the scheduled delivery date. A surcharge of $50.00 will be charged for same-day cancelations, if no one is available at the address to accept delivery, and for redelivery attempts.
Delivery is completed under safe and normal conditions using a clear path to the entrance of the building. MF&A delivery personnel do not remove doors, banisters, windows, trim, gates, or any other structural items. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the product they purchased will fit through entryways. Mike's Furniture is not responsible for damage caused by appliance/furniture delivery. MF&A does not refund delivery charges for items that do not fit through entryways.
Customer must notify MF&A within 24 hours of damage to product on delivery or missing items/parts; failure to do so will waive all claims. If an item is not in acceptable condition, the customer has the right to refuse delivery.
Pick Up
Valid photo ID and invoice must be present for in-store pick up. Pick-up dates and times are Monday – Saturday, 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Customers are responsible for inspecting pick-up items prior to leaving. MF&A is not liable for damage caused to vehicles used for pick-ups. Items picked up have a 30-day guarantee and must be brought back to MF&A for repairs, returns, exchanges, or guarantee work.
Guarantee
Guarantee is 30 days. Additional guarantee will be posted on the front of the receipt. Guarantee is valid on the product(s) listed on the invoice at the address stated, and is void if items are moved to a different address.
Guarantee is voided by damage caused by improper opening of packaging, poor assembly, unauthorized repair, or modification of the item. Guarantee is also voided by damage resulting from negligence, misuse, accidents, unsanitary environments, conditions resulting from inadequate maintenance or care, or commercial use. Abuse is determined by MF&A exclusively. There is no coverage for damage caused by acts of nature. MF&A is not responsible for damage caused by appliance(s)/furniture to the customer's residence.
Defective products must be brought back to the store, at the customer's expense, to fulfill the guarantee. MF&A reserves the right to determine whether a product will be repaired or exchanged. There is no guarantee on "As Is" items.
Furniture Guarantee
Furniture guarantee is provided by the manufacturer, not MF&A. Guarantees can be found on the manufacturer/vendor website. "Too hard or too soft," pertaining to mattresses or padded/cushioned products, is a personal judgment that should be resolved at the time of purchase and is not under guarantee.
Mattress / Box Spring Guarantee
Mattress/box spring guarantee is provided by the manufacturer, not MF&A. Customer must bring the mattress/box spring to MF&A in the original plastic, free of rips or stains, to claim an issue covered under guarantee. MF&A will ship the mattress/box spring to the manufacturer for guarantee work; this process can take 2–8 weeks. *Renovated bedding and mattresses are made from used and second-hand materials, are compliant with state regulations, and are the responsibility of the vendor, not MF&A. Mattresses that are special ordered are considered final sales.
Furniture or appliances not located in the city of Chicago must be brought to Mike's Furniture, at the customer's expense, for guarantee work.
Appliance Guarantees
Used appliances: guarantee is 30 days through MF&A. Appliances in need of repair during the guarantee will be serviced by an MF&A technician. If the appliance is determined "unfixable," it may be replaced for an item of equal cost. Customer neglect will void the appliance guarantee. MF&A does not thoroughly clean used appliances and is not responsible for appliance odors, missing parts, scratches, or dents. Washer and dryer appliances are fixed to work in normal settings; not all settings will be operable.
New appliances: guarantee and warranty work is through the manufacturer. All guarantee work on new appliances is serviced directly by the manufacturer. MF&A does not service new appliances. Independent repair/maintenance work will void the manufacturer guarantee and warranty unless contracted by the manufacturer.
Appliance Removal
Washers, dryers, fridges, and stoves must be cleaned, dried, and disconnected prior to removal. If a removal fee is paid and these conditions are not met, it will be counted as store credit.
Proof of Malfunction
Customer must provide proof that a malfunction has occurred, sent in the form of pictures or videos via text or email. Please call MF&A customer service for more details.
Refrigerator
Freezer section cools below 20° and is self-defrosting (if marked by the manufacturer); refrigerator section cools between 35°–45°. MF&A does not guarantee lights or water systems and is not liable for food spoilage.

Stove
All burners, oven, and grill (if available) are covered. MF&A does not guarantee lights or clocks. Gas lines are not included in the sale. MF&A is not responsible for connecting the appliance to gas or electric, nor for food spoilage or missed meals.
Dryer
Appliance works according to the marking on the timer and ignition system. Gas or vent pipes are not included in the sale. Mike's Furniture is not responsible for damage to clothing. Front-load dryers must be placed on a level surface to be covered. MF&A is not responsible for connecting the appliance to gas or electric.
Washer
Appliance works according to the normal setting; all other settings may be inoperable, but this does not constitute the machine not operating for normal use. Water and drain hoses are not included in the sale. MF&A is not liable for damage to clothing or property due to water leaks. Front-load washers must be placed on a level surface to be covered.
Microwave
Appliance works according to the marking on the timer. Microwave plates and mounting hardware are not included. All microwaves must be brought back to the store by the customer for guarantee. MF&A is not responsible for food damage.
Dishwasher
Appliance works according to the marking on the timer. MF&A is not liable for damaged dishes or water damage to property due to water leaks.
Air Conditioner
Appliance works according to the controls. MF&A is not responsible for water damage due to condensation. Mounting hardware is not included.
Home Furnishings, Floor Displays & Rugs
All floor displays are considered final sales and non-returnable. Floor displays may have cosmetic flaws or damage associated with showroom traffic and demo use. Unless otherwise stated on the invoice, all floor displays are considered final sales and are not returnable. All home goods and home furnishing items are final sales. All rugs are final sales and cannot be returned.
Open Box Appliances
Open box appliances are appliances that have been returned to a store but are still in good condition — often having minor cosmetic imperfections such as dents and scratches, or having been used as display models — but mechanically have not been used.
White Glove Delivery & Setup
White glove delivery & setup is a prepaid contractor program.
Our delivery contractor will bring furniture into the appropriate room, unbox, set up, and remove additional packaging. The fee covers one (1) set-up appointment. Warranty claims are not covered. If the client is not available for service as scheduled, or if canceled same day, a $50.00 fee will be assessed. Please note furniture is not returnable without proper packaging.
Website images, catalogues, photographs, brochures, and any presentation provided by MF&A are for illustrative purposes only. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the size, color, and design of the products are suitable for their home. Variations in color, texture, and natural markings of wood, fabric, metal, or leather are common and cannot be avoided; Mike's Furniture cannot be held responsible for such variations. MF&A is not liable for fading under any circumstance. Replacement parts may not always match the original dye lot or finish.
Refunds
Refunds can be made within the first 30 days of the invoice date. MF&A reserves the right to refuse any refund. Refunds cannot be made on special orders, such as ordered Ashley/Coaster/Titanic Furniture/United Furniture. Nationwide Furniture items have a 20% restocking fee. Special ordered mattresses and brand-new appliances are final sales.
Any amounts related to work completed on setup, install, removal, delivery, special purchases, and repairs will be deducted from the refund amount. Any additional cosmetic wear/damage made to appliances or products that were picked up will be deducted in tiers of 10%, 15%, 20%, or more of the initial sale price, depending on the severity of the cosmetic wear/damage due to customer negligence.
To receive a refund, the customer must be present with a valid photo ID. Debit and credit card refunds will be credited to the original debit/credit card. Cash amounts over $100.00 will be refunded in the form of an MF&A company check. Any voided financing/leasing contracts will be returned via the financing/leasing company's refund method, such as EFT ("electronic funds transfer"), or the method consistent with their transaction method. Refunds can be made between the hours of 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
After 30 days, deposited money will become store credit, valid for 1 year from the invoice date. A $50, $65, or $75 (or more) delivery fee will be withheld from the refunded amount if a delivery attempt was made. Each fee depends on the geographic location of the customer's delivery address relative to the warehouse and the amount of furniture ordered.
Back Orders & Force Majeure
Items may take 1–12 weeks to receive. If an item was ordered and the manufacturer is out of stock, that order becomes a back order. MF&A will notify the customer of a back order prior to placing the order; the customer then has the option to accept the back order or choose a different item. If the customer chooses to wait for the back-ordered item, MF&A cannot be held liable for any loss resulting from the customer's choice to wait.
Force Majeure Clause: Once an order is placed, MF&A is not responsible for delays or damages arising from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, labor disputes, or supply chain interruptions.
Returns & Exchanges
30-day return/exchange policy. Item must be brought back to the store in the original packaging, in original condition, at the customer's expense, within 30 days from the delivery/pick-up date. If packaging is torn or unusable, the item will not be accepted and no refund/store credit will be given. Mattress(es)/box spring(s) must be unopened & in original packaging for return/exchange.
No return/exchange on special orders or ordered Ashley/Coaster/Titanic/United items. Nationwide Furniture orders have a 20% restocking fee. Special ordered mattresses, brand-new appliances, and open box appliances are final sales.

Special-Order Brands
Ashley · Coaster · Titanic · United · Snuz Mattresses · Rugs · Home Furnishing / Home Goods
Ordered Ashley/Coaster/Titanic/United items are final sales. Rugs and home furnishing/goods items are final sales. Snuz Mattresses are final sales. MF&A places orders for Ashley/Coaster/Titanic items when paid in full. Once orders are placed, they cannot be returned, canceled, or changed, and no refund will be issued.
It is the customer's responsibility to consider measurements and color variations before confirming their order. Any issues regarding delivered Ashley/Coaster/Titanic items will be resolved by the MF&A service department. Ashley/Coaster/Titanic orders may take 1–12 weeks to be received. MF&A will contact the client once received to schedule delivery; delivery must be scheduled within 2 weeks of item receipt. A storage fee of $50.00 will be assessed on orders in storage for over 2 weeks.

Financing Dispute Resolution
Should there be any financing/leasing — also commonly known as "lease to own" — associated with a purchase through American First Finance, LLC; West Creek Financial, Inc. (DBA Koalafi); Snap Finance LLC; Affirm Holdings, Inc.; Progressive Leasing, LLC, a subsidiary of PROG Holdings, Inc.; and/or Upbound Group, Inc. ("ACIMA"), the customer understands and agrees to waive their right to cancel, reverse, or dispute the financing agreement with these companies in relation to any furniture or appliance purchased from MF&A.
This waiver applies before and after the delivery of items that are special ordered, on backorder, or in the process of being delivered. Customer further understands that if part of a purchase is delivered, ordered, or received by the customer or MF&A, or is in the process of being delivered to the customer or MF&A, funding may commence at point of sale.

Arbitration & Dispute Resolution
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to any product or service purchased from MF&A shall be resolved exclusively through binding arbitration. The plaintiff/petitioner agrees to be solely responsible for all court costs associated with the dispute, including but not limited to mediator, opposing counsel, and filing fees.
Customers have the right to opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of the date of purchase. To be valid, the opt-out must be submitted in writing by email to info@MikesFurnitureAndAppliances.com or by certified mail to: MF&A, 1307 N Ashland Ave, Chicago, IL 60622. The notice must include the customer's name, address, and invoice number. If no opt-out notice is received within the 30-day window, the customer agrees to be bound by this arbitration clause and forfeits their right to any other form of dispute resolution.
